In Their Words:
"At xtraxtra.com, you can stay up-to-date with news and milestones taking place in your hometown and communities with which you are connected.
xtra xtra founder Paul J. Rooney was born and raised in the tight-knit community of South Boston, Massachusetts. When Paul moved out of South Boston, he found it difficult to keep in touch with people and events in the area. After discussing this dilemma with Peg Rooney, Paul’s mother and a frequent patron of local news, the idea for xtra xtra was born. At xtra xtra, users have the ability to stay up-to-date with news and life events in various locations from a single website. Users can also share their own photos and personal milestones with the communities to which they feel connected. xtra xtra enables users to remain connected to the people and communities that matter most to them, regardless of geographical location."
M
y Thoughts:Xtra xtra is a great new website where you can share your personal and family milestones and share your photos. It a great way to stay connected and keep your family, especially family that you live far away from, up to date on everything.
They can even help you find people that you have lost touch with. What I thought was really cool was you can enter your zip code and view all the announcements that people have posted in your area. They also have a forum for each city.

You can post and list Milestones such as: Births, Adoptions, Engagements, Weddings, Birthdays and many more.
Have I mentioned its free!? It's a great way to stay in touch and it's right at your finger tips.

What a great idea -- kudos, Mr Rooney! As someone that moved a lot, I love that this site gives me the chance to keep up with what's going on (good, bad and otherwise) in communities I used to call home. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great site. It will be even better when more events get listed in my area. One place to find all the weekend activities. cool!
ReplyDeleteThis site looks great and seems like a more "grown-up" version of Facebook or similar websites. It could be very useful when trying to plan reunions or other get-togethers.

I was so impressed right away! Their site is easy to navigate and I love the pictures! I even found some milestones in my tiny town, although unfortunately they were all obituaries. Great site, though!

ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I do wounder what happened to my neighbors, teaches and friends in my old town. This looks fun

Great site with a lot of information. This could replace the backyard fence for gathering gossip and learning about things you might otherwise miss.
love the site reads like a paper

ReplyDeleteI love seeing the milestones from my community all in one place. What a (mostly) happy bunch of announcements! Much easier than trying to find them in the online version of our newspaper.
