Book Review - Fearless by Max Lucado

Book Title: Fearless Imagine Your Life Without Fear By Max Lucado

Book Description:
Each sunrise seems to bring fresh reasons for fear.

They're talking layoffs at work, slowdowns in the economy, flare-ups in the Middle East, turnovers at headquarters, downturns in the housing market, upswings in global warming. The plague of our day, terrorism, begins with the word terror. Fear, it seems, has taken up a hundred-year lease on the building next door and set up shop. Oversized and rude, fear herds us into a prison of unlocked doors. Wouldn't it be great to walk out?

Imagine your life, wholly untouched by angst. What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats? If you could hover a fear magnet over your heart and extract every last shaving of dread, insecurity, or doubt, what would remain? Envision a day, just one day, where you could trust more and fear less.

Can you imagine your life without fear?

My thoughts:
I'm sure everyone has circumstances in their life which have caused them great fear and anxiety. (if not how do you do it?? :)
He shows how to examine fear for what it is then how to expose it and then battle it.

He puts humor into the book also which makes it an easy read.

The book is broken down into chapters dealing with many of the fears we all face -

* Fear of not mattering
* Fear of disappointing God
* Fear of being in need
* Fear of issues around our children
* Fear of overwhelming challenges
* Fear of the worst-case scenarios
* Fear of violence
* Fear of money issues
* Fear of death
* Fear of tomorrow
* Fear of religious doubt
* Fear of global calamity
* Fear of really trusting God with your life

It was a nice enjoyable read that I would recommend.

I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars.
